Cultural differences arise out of different cultural conditioning. This conditioning begins when a child begins formal and compulsory education and societal pressures within and outside the family starts for a child to behave or not to behave in a certain way.

Speaking of what is taught in schools, it is a fact that the same history is taught with different narratives based on where you study. There is the victor’s version and the loser’s version of history.

History can also become propaganda based on what is taught in class.

The manner in which a society’s thought leadership decides to influence its members remains the same in every society in every part of the world.

The tools of influence are always the same. Books, news, radio, films, literature and interpretations of history. In today’s world it is videos, online games and podcasts!

In the days before AI and machine journalists, where did content originate from? Many create content based on what they observe or what they think. Many report what they see. Some want to see beyond the end of their nose and decide to travel to gain insights. These insights are then put into words and form content. Today, the words are converted to music and video in order to report incidents or share insights.

And in such a journey to pen down content, accosting language barriers is but inadvertent. Many are so intrigued by their observations, that they put their time and efforts to learning more languages. They overcome these barriers and translate from texts of different languages have contributed to knowledge exchange over millenia.

How many of you who are multilingual have noticed that information available in one land or one language is not available in another land or language? Reading material available in some aren’t available in another.
